Canon-McMillan won its 32nd section team wrestling title and 10th in a row by routing Waynesburg, 54-18, in the finals of the Section 4 event at C-M's gym Thursday.
Canon-McMillan head coach Chris Mary missed the event because of a death in his family, but the Big Macs looked particularly sharp in beating Waynesburg and crushing Peters Township, 52-9.
The Big Macs streak is one of the more impressive in wrestling team competition.
C-M should be the No. 1 seed when the WPIAL releases its team tournament brackets for Class AAA and AA Friday.
Will the seeds be released on friday night? CM should get the top spot. Latrobe will get the #2 and North A #3. Hempfeild #4.
ReplyDeleteDidn't NA beat Latrobe?
ReplyDeleteBrackets have been posted on the wpial's site. Macs are top seed and will get the Ringgold/North Hills winner, than would get either Connellsville or Penn Trafford.
ReplyDeleteCanon Mac's upper weight classed crushed their competition, pinning almost every opponent.
ReplyDeleteWhat amuses me is the WPIAL aligns the section then penalize a team for being in a weak section IE Hempfield.
ReplyDeleteSorry Kiski.....you cant beat them.
looks like kiski ould beat hempfield
