53-22 victory in Section 4-B in Class AAA.
CM match took about 17 minutes. Poor Moon. If actual schools are not ever going to ever consolidate then maybe there needs to be more co-op sports programs between schools. Too many forfeits over and over. Look at Bentworth vs Wash High. Wpial needs to set rules on what is defined as a team. If they don't meet the criteria then the school has to combine with an adjacent school of it's respective boundaries. Or go to club wrestling. Dual meets really highlight how wrestling is dying and how the increased number of sports in a school has saturated the overall sports system and made weak teams in general.
That's the reason why so many schools prefer the duals format. But even that will be changing next season. A two-day dual tournament will cost more scheduling points. A one-day dual tournament will remain the same.

Small schools, or even large schools that can't seem to get a full line-up year after year, tend to lean toward individual tournaments. This helps them by celebrating individual acheivements and keeps their "studs" interested. No one wants to be 30-0 on a team that is 0-30 and not have anything to show for it. They use duals to get their less experienced kids more mat time. Good coaches know how to keep their schools in the news. Let's face it, if you asked me what schools (AAA & AA) won the dual state title 3 years ago, I wouldn't have a clue, but I could probably tell you all 28 individual state champs for that year.
Wow 12:07 that sounds like a good challenge. Even if you don't closely follow the team tourney, the list of champions can easily be narrowed to about a handful of schools in each division. I could not rattle off half of the 28.
I'll admit that I did have to cheat for 2 of the lighter weights, but my point is this- the big dance is at Hershey in March not February. Just watched a dual where a team FF'ed 6 weights and lost the dual 45-33. The winning team won 1 contested bout by dec. Which team do you think will be taking a bus load of fans to Hershey in March? It's all good as long as we support our teams and respect our opponents.
