That's what happens when you cheat. Nobody wants to talk about how CM recruited Macri & Chisko & their influence in WPIAL to get those kids on their team. Everybody knows Chisko is home schooled in the Penn Trafford home of his parents & his father only bought an apartment in Canonsburg but they don't live in the school district. Interesting the whole Quest wrestling connection with Chisko & Macri too. But we can't talk about it can we? CM recruited better than any school this year & it still didn't help them. If any other school did what they did, those wrestlers would be ineligible for their freshman year.
"Build it and they will come."
I almost didn't respond to the cry baby anonumous poster about CM cheating. Macri hasn't wrestled many matches for CM and Chisko has never wrestled for any school district. Even if you took those two wrestlers out of the mix, CM is still a stud team and the rest of the WPIAL would still be looking up at the Big Macs. I have a box of tissues for you to dry your eyes!! Poor baby!!
Jealousy at its finest!!!!!
"Chisko is home schooled in the Penn Trafford home of his parents & his father only bought an apartment in Canonsburg but they don't live in the school district".
To the above comment: Come-on Man! You only know half the story. It is funnier than this...you should find out who he is renting the house from...The story only gets better and better Hint: CM & Quest Connection. Oh course - WPIAL approved the move. Find out who oversees WPIAL for wrestling and connect the dots on who's who among childhood friends.
Don't worry, these moves destroy programs in the long run. After the next two years or even next year - CM program will on its way down unless they can keep up the recruiting. Local parents and kids see this and move to other sports. It is already happening.
Quest comment - it is true that the team is built by Quest but the down fall to Quest in general is that no upper weight class wrestlers go to Quest. Style of wrestling caters to lightweights so CM will only be strong in lower weights and will not be able to recruit or build at the higher weights. They were trying big time last year to bring Cody W over to their program. (biggest guy in the room at Quest at 160 lbs. and the best "home grown" wrestler in the area in my opinion). It was the biggest talk with the CM Quest Dads last year.
CM needs to go scout Iron Horse and cut deals with that program too. Or maybe look at Eastern PA for a program. Ha Ha Ha. Might be harder because club is not run by an old college team mate from WVU. Again - connect the dots.
My oh my, has High School Wrestling changed in the past 30 years in public schools. Maybe we can get to paying the families or the athletes to move in the next thirty years.
Putting all this a side: FYI - Chisko "the wrestler" is a very nice, well respected good kid. What a bright future he has in wrestling.
You poor, bored, jealous knucklehead.
first of all everyone knows cm won the wpial last year without either one of these wrestlers.so we can get off the issue that recruiting got them the win ! sounds to me like you are very brave running your mouth about the "story"after sitting in the quest wrestling room talking with the "cm quest dads" wow you are a real tough guy! what really happened.. your boy used to train at quest and couldnt take the tough practices ?what did he cry all the way home that he was getting beat up too much??? is that what your real gripe is with Quest? And as far as your jealousy with the CM program and all the secret "connections" its really pathetic.Get the chip off your shoulder and spend a little more time working with your son to get better at wrestling and maybe one day he will get to experience the excitement the CM program is having !
Ok children put your toy guns away and go to bed. It`s pretty funny reading these comments. Both sides of these stories are a joke. We now live in a society where its not what ya know its who ya know. Politics reign supreme. Even in High School Wrestling. Sad but true
yes its all a vast right wing conspiracy in which mr.chisko ruined his own water supply to make his kids tougher by making them drink and bath in creek water. i heard the kids came home from practice one day and they were thirsty but it was so cold the creek was frozen over so mr. chisko gave the 20 ib sledge hammer to his younger son boaz and said if he can break through you all can drink.even though boaz was only 40 lbs mr chisko knew he could braek through with both brothers on each sides of him screaming encouraging threats. then as mr. chisko was leaving for work that night, the kids yelled to their dad ,how do we bath? mr. chisko yelled rub some snow in yer armpits ye be fine,an i'll bring yuns some road kill in the morn if yuns guys are under weight. we just need to be tougher than them russians.
You forgot about the skulls and crossbones. What a tool
WOW, I realize times are tough down there at Trinity, but to start throwing barbs at CM just because thier JV team would crush your varsity team is a little silly. GROW UP. CM is loaded because they have a great feeder program and the best head coach in the WPIAL. Enjoy rifle season, that's all you Hillers got!
There weren't any apartments in Penn Trafford with running water?
I doon;t know big mac fans the hill kick you're butts in football and basketball and several other sports. Hey how do you know that you would have beat us in wrestling it wasn't Trinity who wouldn't schedule the match it was the Big Mac's. So don't blow a lot of smoke when you wouldn't schedule us you big chicken's
C'mon Joe Tuscano there a story here if this was Trinity the OR would be looking into it. Find who there renting or supposed to be renting from and if they went after Cody W.or if they were told to back off Cody W. because off a full WPIAL investigation.
maybe if you could spell someone may know what it is exactly you are asking joe to do .....????? seriously dont come on the blog if you can't even speak proper english !!!! it is annoying!
Wow, a lot of anon comments going on here. The one suggestion I would add mr. Tuscano would be to eliminate anon comments. I would bet that you would end a lot of negative badgering on here with just that simple move. A lot of mom's out there would be disappointed I am sure as they have all taught if you do not have something nice to say then do not say it at all. As far as the quest connection, one of the biggest connections is actually allowing our kids to participate in anything that will help them achieve their goals instead of being so prideful as to restrict them and fight them and blind them to the truths of this sport that no one thing will make our wrestlers champions at this sport but a whole multitude...as far as looking to the east I have personal involvement the the programs of Easton, Nazareth, northhampton etc since the 90's and it is well known that their wrestlers are constantly moving around between those schools and in and out of new jersey and smaller area schools to make the programs better, the only difference is that they usually sign off and keep it uncontroversial instead of crying sour grapes. Concerning Cody w , his family was facing a forced move due to power lines and many schools were interested in case he was going to move but as always canon Mac was one of the most enticing due to a great safe school district with an excellent wrestling program that continues to add to it's most wins in the great wrestling state of PA.trinity had it's chance to earn it's match with cm and failed to do so.there are many conspiracy theorist out there but as usual they will remain anon while we continue to add to our wins total. Ps not one of these people would make the mr. Chishko comments to his face.
One thing I forgot was that one of the main reasons I love this sport is that there is no way to cheat and rise to the top!
Only hard work and self sacrifice will achieve anything worthwhile in this sport a lot like life in the end.
what is so odvious is the hatred toward the chishkos, not a word is uttered about pcc.
Do you mean chishko's dad is renting a house in Cannonsburg that is owned by one of the Mary brothers? Wow do tell, this is getting good.
To Mr. K
This forum exists to express opinions, pro and con. As long as it's done in a reasonable fashion - no swearing, no denegrations, no claims that would get me or the paper sued - they can be expressed. Break those rules and I pull that person's privilege to post. Regular posters understand that. Posting anonymously doesn't mean they are anonymous to me. I just want them to stay within that framework.
Just an honest suggestion to make a point. I fully understand that we have a freedom of speech whether we want to put a name to it or not. I truly appreciate this forum and your blogs and coverage of wpial wrestling as you are one of the few people who attempt to do so. I also feel that you do a good job at it. Futhermore I also understand that some persons are teachers and such and thereby understand why they remain anon due to political correctness and such. I really hope that I do not offend you or really any other person on here, I do however wish to protect the integrity of my young students and the program I represent. Truthfully I believe that even negative publicity can be good publicity as often celebrities and their agents know. Canon McMillan to my knowledge and anyone involved has never done anything illegal. None of this will end the desire for serious wrestling families to want to relocate to our school district whether they do this before ninth grade, after or even in some cases before they even have children(true story). Sincerely thank you for all you do Joe.
I Think the problems that are coming from this are that alot of these programs are struggling and the first excuse is blame the success of one for their downfall. You can`t make these issues go away because there will always be a few bad apples to spoil the bunch.Another problem is the team competition in the area is about at its lowest point ever. Trinity, Mcguffey, and a host of others have a few individuals but the programs in general are no longer capable of a rivalry with Canon-Mac. You never know things could change. I certainly hope they do, but highly unlikely. Dual meets are a joke anymore,The days of soldout dualmeets and rivalrys are gone. Sad but true.
I honestly believe things could change for the better but it takes a ton of very passionate effort. We all need to hit the elementary schools with demonstrations that excite the young boys of our community, we need to have multiple sign ups at various places throughout the communities including all of the fall sports sites, we need to focus more on developing our young wrestlers instead of rushing them into competition, we need junior high coaches who are paid more and so they spend more time with the kids, we need more freestyle/Greco events in our areas, we need full junior varsity line ups again with more junior varsity competitions, we could use less weight classes again, it would be great to be able to shorten the season so that states fell in February (this one is really dreaming), overall we need to bury the hatchet and help each others programs get better by cross training and working with each others wrestlers thereby exposing them to more knowledge. A lot of ideas here some more realistic than others but all could and would help I believe rebuild wrestling in our area among other things...
Amen to that brother. In the end it`s all about the kids.Good luck to them all on the road to The GIANT Center.
Instead of fewer weight classes they need to combine AA and AAA. Most top wrestlers are not developed by their high school coaches ... instead they are great because of year round wresting at a club. School size does not mater anymore. Make it one tournament like the very old days and keep all the weight classes. It would make wrestling stronger. Everybody is right when they talk about dual meets being a joke with 4 or more forfeits every time.
A greater goal outside wresting is consolidation of school systems. PA is the worst state in the country at resisting this and causing unnecessary expense to the tax payer.– 545 school systems vs. 35 in Maryland. I know this is off topic but look at Washington County – there should be one school system within the county and I will say fewer high schools (there still would be multiple high schools). That would bring programs together and stronger. Really off topic but look at the cost of redundant administration costs … example – look at one position and imagine all the other excessive positions: School Superintendent – there are probably 9 or 10 of these jobs in Washington County $1.2 million payroll by the tax payer (a conservative guess). Have one and pay somebody $200,000 for the position. This consolidation would reduce overhead expenses too – drastically reducing the cost to the taxpayer. Way down stream this would consolidate wrestling programs and make the teams stronger. CM and CH, Trinity and Wash High, etc., etc.
Consolidation happens all over the country just not in PA. PA loves their small units of power. Look at the police departments – North Franklin, South Franklin, Washington, East Washington, North Strabane, South Strabane, Houston, Canonsburg, Cecil, etc. What a joke and unnecessary expense to the taxpayer – there should be one - Washington County Sheriffs Department. School consolidation will happen at some point because the expense can not continue – a harsh reality but sports wise … the teams will be stronger and at a less expense to the taxpayer.
Clubs do not help the longevity of the overall sport because not everybody can afford the expense. If you look at before they existed many great wrestlers were from all types of families not just the ones who can afford the expense joining a wrestling club. This has pushed great athletes into other sports and put holes in school lineups. They simply can not keep up the affluent others who can afford the only training offered in the off season. When wrestling development was solely within the school system and was free, you could pull from a larger population. Having coaches that are not teachers does not help either in recruitment. They are not there during the school day trying to recruit the athletes to try their sport. This is an issue for all sports.
Agree with “hit the elementary schools with demonstrations that excite the young boys of our community” – that is a great idea. And agree with “need full junior varsity line ups again with more junior varsity competitions” – another great idea to a very big problem. This is another low period for a wrestler and a very high risk for a wrestler to bag the sport – currently there is nothing for the JV athlete to do. Too old for JOs and there are not matches during the whole year. Parents are disinterested in the sport…never see their kid wrestle…Yet Hey…make sure you work concessions so the varsity parents can watch their kids and take their kids on the tournament trips. No JV anything causes a lot of issues within the whole local wrestling program. It goes on and on. Kids who do multiple sports just bag this one. Parents have lost interest and say – good. Once it is bagged, you lost a wrestler for good. They don’t come back.
