Is Macri weighing 14? Should wrestle 114 against Nazareth. Connor 119.

Macri is keeping his weight down. His focus is wrestling off again with Shorts not the team.

As a teacher who has Macri and has talked to him all season, you will never find a young man that has been all about the team. He is constantly upbeat about his team and teammates. He wrestled 119 for the team this year and was majored. Did he complain? Not once. You try and wrestle someone 15 pounds heavier when you are not used to losing and see if you don't cry about it. I am proud of this young man and I know that there are great things not only for him, but the team in the future.

i am glad that you are tough enough to put down a 14 year old. Do you feel tougher now?

Don't doubt that Macri's words indicate that he is excited about the team. Shorts actions have indicated team focus for 3 years. Shorts should not have to even think about wrestling off again this year, unless again it is a STARTER that stayed up in weight to help the team dropping down in weight for individual competition.

I am not attacking Colt. I think he is an amazing young man and a hell-of-a-wrestler. I think the world of him as well. He is a great student, a great young man, and I see where you are coming from. I just don't like how adults bash these young men who are giving their all. I am rooting for Colt to take states as much as you are.

Agree with you completely. Bashing kids is just plain wrong. Macri is good, dedicated, hard working. Canon Mac will benefit by his presence.

This has gotten way out of control by two anons, I wanted to stay out of this but I can no longer. Both young men are outstanding individuals who are great wrestlers and very good students also. Both have good character, much better I think than the people, assuming they are adults who write these anon notes, who are saying such things. If you cannot put your name to your comment, then that should tell you something in itself to yourself. I am a coach in the Canon McMillan program and have worked and spoken with both of these young men and am very optimistic that they both will receive their scholarships one day which I believe is a goal of each one of them. I have witnessed Macri cheering for Shorts and vice versa.

Also, on any team that I have ever known as an athlete and coach has always allowed wrestlers to eliminate for the individual post season spot no matter what the circumstances have been leading up to that time of year.

Right now anyone involved with Canon McMillan program should only be focused on one thing and one thing only--bringing home a PIAA title, the first since 1992. First chance at that begins Thursday in the PIAA duals in Hershey, 8:00 PM against Nazareth. Whether that means someone wrestling at their weight, a weight up, or someone stepping in who no one has ever heard of and getting the job done. If the job gets done everyone should be happy with the accomplishment.

After this is said and done then we as a program can focus on the next chance at a PIAA title through the individual tournament March 9 - 11.

Coach Krenzelak,
Well said. I am one of the anons (and remain to be...)and I agree with what you say. I was merely trying to defend Macri who was being slandered on this blog. I also gave nothing but praise to Colt. They both are fine young men, great students, and two hellava good wrestlers.

I am very proud of the job that you and the rest of the staff have done in putting this team in the right place. Their attitude, technique, and chemistry seems to be at a high as I see them walk through the halls around the school and at every match that I have attended. Good luck this Weekend. Bring home that trophy.
