An unusual occurrence
Here is something you don't see very often: more points scored in a scholastic wrestling match than in a boys high school basketball game. On Tuesday night, Burgettstown defeated South Side Beaver 52-16 (that's 68 points if you are mathematically challenged. Canon-McMillan beat Peters Township, 42-20 (again, 62 if you need help cyphering). I think that says a lot about the sorry state of the area's basketball.

Yeah, because area wrestling is so good this season. That's about as stupid an arguement as I've seen made.
Area wrestling is bad this season, which you point out and make my point. In a down wrestling season, it's unbelievable that a dual meet can produce more points than a boys basketball game. Thank you.
Low scoring or not, at least a 42-33 bball game has some excitement to it, unlike a wrestling match that lasts 22 minutes with 7 forfeits, a given at pretty much all AA matches in the area this year.
That basketball game was exciting.
There were that many points scored in the wrestling match because there were forfeits (NO match) or pins (competitors were mis-matched).
BORING>>>
The sport of wrestling has about 10 years (or less) to live.
A boys basketball game should never score fewer points than a wrestling match, unless Dean Smith is the coach and he uses the four-corner offense. Think about it: 62 points means two teams averaged 31 apiece for the game, 15.5 for the half and 7.75 per quarter. That means in an 8-minute quarter, the two teams combined for about one basket for every two minutes played. How you can find that exciting is totally beyond me.
