C-M has tough tests
Canon-McMillan went 3-2 in the five bouts the Big Macs wrestled at the Va. Duals over the weekend. They defeated Matoaca, 53-17; Franklin County, 48-20 and Camden Catholic, 54-17. They lost to South Plainfield 30-23; and Nazareth, 32-26.
Connor Schram, the Big Macs defending state champion, lost twice in the event. Anthony Ashnault of South Plainfield topped Schram 5-1, and Chad Walsh pinned Schram in 4:22 in the Camden Catholic match.
Cody Klempay, Alex Campbell , Nick Catalano and Colton Shorts each won five bouts and Solomon Chishko went 3-1.

Schram wrestled up in the match that he was pinned.
A returning state champ giving up 7 pounds is no excuse to getting pinned. I hope the CM coaching staff does the right thing and puts Schram wherever they deem fit during the State Team Tournament. Parents get way too involved in these sports...let the coaches coach!
