Congrats to a well-deserving coach Phil! One of the best coaches and mentors I've ever had the pleasure of wrestling with.

I lived in the same hall as Phil and actually right across from his room at Ballentine Hall at Clarion University. I saw every home wrestling match and Phil was a good college wrestler. He had the tough task of always wrestling these guys who would be 5'9" 150lbs in the off season and drop to 126.Phil just wasn't that big. Most of those 17 loses were very very close matches against older all americans when phil was a freshman. He also beat some very good kids who were national qualifiers. He is in my opinion one of the greatest wrestlers in Pa history. By the way his loss at PIAA his senior year he was dominating that match and got caught. came back and took third to show his character as a winner
