Three wrestlers, who have enjoyed distinguished careers, have chosen colleges to highlight signing day. Canon-McMillan senior Nick Catalano has decided on North Carolina; South Fayette senior Nick Carr is headed to Kent State and Waynesburg senior Derrick Nelson will attend Pitt.
Catalano finished third at 135 pounds in the PIAA Wrestling Championships last year and is the No. 2 wrestler at 145 pounds in the O-R rankings. Carr won South Fayette's first state wrestling title last season and is top-ranked in Class AA at 152 pounds. Nelson was fifth at 119 in Hershey last year and is top ranked at 119 in the WPIAL.
