Where's Jeremy Ellis from WBG. He had a good year and good career for the Raiders. He is def worth a second team spot.

An undefeated (only losses were at State) WPIAL Champion could only make the second team! WOW

Joe, please explain the criteria you used to determine the all district team? I would think winning the WPIAL (DISTRICT 7) would automatically make you a first team selection, yet you have Kyle McWreath listed as a second team selection. He went undefeated through District competition! What else did the young man have to do Joe, win every match by a pin? You really give people reason to doubt your opinion when you leave an undefeated WPIAL Champion like Kyle McWreath off your first team.
It can't be performance based so is it personal?

Because there is no fair way to select between, say a heavyweight in Class AA and a 103-pounder in Class AAA, the wrestlers seed themselves on the team with their performance in the state tournament. The top 14 placewinners in the state tournament make the first team. The next 14 made the second team.

It's not personal.

In my opinion that is not very good criteria. No offense to JMs 189 lber, but Ellis from WBG would pin him. And that kid makes the team because he went to states in AA. While Ellis loses recognition because his weight is stacked in AAA and he didn't make the tournament. Maybe you should have a AAA and AA team. I realize this is just one instance and in others the AA kid might be just as good as the AAA kid. But if you follow wrestling you know what I'm talking about.

"the wrestlers seed themselves on the team with their performance in the state tournament"...

So there's really no need for your "list" is there? The PIAA, and a hundred other sites, list the results from the tournament, and we can just count to 14 twice and have the lists? How lame?

Ellis did pin Phillips this year.

If you guys don"t like his list, don't read it. Go check out the other sites that you have just referenced.

last I checked this was a blog where you could write your opinion. The last statement must come from a parent of a kid that doesn't belong on the list.

Joe's list isn't an opinion. He specifically stated that. It's a list. That's the problem. Still trying to figure out how "Have Cake and Eat It Too" Joe can have an opinion about the state team championship and yet can't have one about selecting an All-District team....

I cant see anybody that doesnt deserve to be on the team.Ellis is tough and would be deserving also but where do you stop.Maybe start a blog of your own and make your own list.

How did you know I liked cake? I do have an opinion about the All-District Team: My opinion is that this is a fair way to determine the teams. You have to wrestle your way on it. If you are a state medalist, no matter the weight or class, you are, at least, one of the top eight wrestlers in the state. It's really that simple.

Wrestler of the Year Criteria?

Did Schram silver trump Shorts bronze?

Both section, Tri-County, Powerade, SW Regional WPIAL Champs.

50 wins-single season CM record.

Wrestler of the Year is my opinion. Schram did finish higher and his losses came vs. N.J. champion and up a weight against a third-place finisher. It was a very close call among a few others, too. I had the chance to see them all wrestle, which helps.

So, CakeMan, you can arrive at an opinion about Wrestler of the Year, but it's too difficult to reach one when comparing ",,,say a heavyweight in Class AA and a 103-pounder in Class AAA..."?

How long does it take you to choose between yellow and chocolate cake, let alone what kind of icing it has on it?...

went to tri-county match just to see the matchup between Klempey and Tarley.Did not happen. Why? Heard Klempey said he was going to be sick 1 week before the tourney started. This is for the comment about AA vs AAA. Just a sad wrestling fan wanting to see good match-ups.

And what did Tarley place? 3rd, behind Garry and Lusk.

At least Tarley showed up, even with a hip and back injury. He probably would have had more incentive if Klempey showed. Again, what was Klempey's excuse?
