Canon-Mac sends 2 to finals
Canon-McMillan managed to send two of its five semifinalists to the finals of today's PIAA Class AAA Wrestling Championships in Hershey.
Connor Schram will have an opportunity to capture his second straight title after stopping Austin Miller of Hempfield in District 3, 9-5. Schram will battle Jordan Conaway of New Oxford in the 112 finals.
Nick Catalano decisioned Trey Duncan of Spring Grove 2-1 in the 145-pound semifinals. Catalano draws Brian Brill of Central Mountain int he finals.
Colton Shorts was shut out in his 103-pound semifinals match against Billy Rappo of Council Rock South. Shorts can finish as high as third in the consolations.
Solomon Chishko lost his fourth straight match to Nazareth's Zach Horan, 3-2, in the 130 semifinals. Like Shorts, Chishko won his first bout in the consolation round and can finish third.
Cody Klempay had about 30 pounds on Dawson Peck of Chambersburg but it didn't matter as the C-M junior dropped an 8-3 decision in the semifinals. Klempay fell into the wrestlebacks.

Hey a little bit of a tough mourning for my Blue and gold brothers, but nonetheless a great tourney. All six are comin home with medals and the team title is still ours for the taking. Finish strong boys
24 WPIAL AAA wrestlers medal...certainly nothing to earn 4th place finishers a berth at Hershey, even under your twisted system, Joe...
Double-A WPIAL kids won just as many, and 4x as many titles...maybe those 7 kids going to regionals isn't so bad after all.
24 out of 42 qualifiers medal, 10 of a possible 42 top 3 finishes to D-7 wrestlers. That's a good showing for many areas but is considered a down year for the Southwest.
