History-Maker


Becky Barker of West Mifflin became the first female wrestler to compete in the WPIAL Class AAA Championships. Barker, a junior with a 10-15 record, was pinned in the preliminary round by Chris Olszewski of Hampton in 5:00 Thursday night at Canon-McMillan. Barker was eliminated from the tournament.

first FEMALE wrestler, perhaps? And Melissa Mort wrestled in the WPIAL AA Championships a number of years ago.

HER PARENTS SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!!!!!!! I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO CHRIS MARY WRESTLE HER IN HIS DAYS. HE WOULD OF EMBARRED HER AND HER FAMILY. SO GLAD SHE WAS PINNED

okay i find it funny that because shes a girl you sick people are trying to tear her down. if this was a boy not a word would be said. whop de do she has female reproductive organs get over it. you people should be ashamed of yourselves talking about a 17 year old child like that. why dont you grow up. she should be proud of what she did and so should her parents. you idiots should probably worry about your own lives and stop picking on children for thier accomlishments. grow up

First I would have to say CONGRATULATIONS BECKY for making it to WPIAL's!!!!!! WOw, I thought it was a piture of me; LOL!!!! Whoever you were that wanted her to be embarrassed, you need to wrestle her, so we all can see how embarrassed u feel when she beats you :) !!!! More PEOPLE need to get back into the sport, and become more active! It is a great sport and teaches alot of discipline and how to deal with the ups and downs of life. Becky, don't listen to all the negative people ( I know its hard to ignore), but in the end you are the better person, and you I can't tell you how strong you become because of it! -----Malissa
