Very supprised that Wiercioch made it to the finals, with no practice partner to challenge him at all and coaches that are unable to figure out a opponent to come out with a victory. This kid is truly on his own.

I second that! I will say that I'm not suprised by the outcome though. What happened to all those Cary Kolat comparisons. Not even close. Travis Mckillop is a senior and wants it a little bit more. He is also becoming a man and yes there is a difference between a child wrestling children and a child wrestling a man. And yes I do think Cody can hold his own but, the facts are the facts. If all else is the same a betting man would pick Mckillop. Hope Wiercioch proves me wrong but, then again I'm not a gambling man. Also, dumbarse Cody wrestles championship caliber wrestlers everyday at quest. Do you really think he got that good at Charleroi? If he needs better practice partners maybe he should go to Mckillop's wrestlin club. Stop being a homer.

People in the stands were saying they are so tired of hearing about Cody Weircioch. Yes a good wrestler but there is so many other great wrestlers. Each wrestler gives it their all every time they step on the mat.

I second Mr. Dami. Anyone that thinks this isn't one of the best rivalries I'm our sport today is either out of their mind or very stubborn. Tied 3 matches to 3 all decided by a point? You can't draw it up that good.

10:54 post, You might want to get use to hearing about CW at least for the next 2 years. NO ONE has accomplished what he has in the 5 short years he has wrestled. Quest has not challenged him on the mat, only the some time college wrestler that was there for him. Her does need to go else where for a good partner. 10:54 poster, you where probably in the burrell section.

908 poster, no one is comparing Wiercioch to Kolat. He was a light weight, no comparison. Wiercioch a 52 and now a 60 lber, Jr Sr's graced Wiercioch's brackets as a 9th grader. Poster 1054, tired of hearing about him, thats because he is a winner 97.33 of the times. You must be a MOTHER.

Scott Rhodes Jefferson Morgan Program will be tough to deal with next season. Look at the number of regional qualifiers they had this year and they for the most part are underclassman. I think the future looks bright for the rockets!

I really am curious as to know how many of you have actually wrestled. I mean you can`t even put your name on here and you may or may not of stepped out on a mat in your life. It`s not fair to label a kid to that high of a standard. He`s Cody Wierchoch not Cary Kolat. Some of you bleacher creatures need to appreciate what he`s accomplished not what you want or hope. Ignorance is bliss when your ANONYMOUS and i hope Match 7 between Wierchoch and Mckillop is as Epic as the first 6. Print It for me Mr Tuscano

How do you know what CW's dad said, where you next to them when this was said. If there where more dads like him we would have more kids like Cody. Respectfull, kind, considerate, caring and not a bad athlete. They say it all starts at home, good job DAD. 5:26 post you are a jackass there is only 5 kids on the team, not hard to figure out. He has the 71 pounder to go with and I will not even go there. Trust me he has no one to wrestle.

Stop making excuses for CW's loss, everyone knows he is a quest kid and has partners there and also he trains all year long. The more mat time the better and even if Char's 171 isn't great, doesn't mean he isn't helping. He lost, no excuses, if it keeps the pattern win, loss, win, loss, etc. between Travis and CW, CW will win the gold next week and you should be fortunate for the loss now, and not then. CW just has to do what he does best, and wrestle. He will have the gold.

Cody is an excellent wrestler and an awesome young man. His father is a great father and a kind man who has put his son in a position to do the things he has done. Quest is a great club with a very good director who has helped many young wrestlers including my son and many others. Charleroi like many other schools do the best they can with what they got. Comparing anyone to Kolat is impossible and if any of the Kolat legends are true then Kolat's Dad might be in jail in today's world with all of these forums and comment boxes to publicize so many things so easily. I do believe that at a better school program with more partners and a more experienced coaching staff CW might have been unblemished. But you also have to understand that he really does not cut much weight and runs from no one which you have to respect! McKillop also deserves some respect here as he is the only one to defeat CW in a high school season. the possible 7th match will be highly anticipated and I am sure now that CW is very motivated...

Anon. I can appreciate that you are ruiting for certain wrestlers, this sport is exciting and we all have our favorites. But to rip on or cut down a kid who is 16 years old, who works his a** off every day, not to mention an honor student and a very respectful young man is down right pathetic. You clearly have never worked hard for anything in your life. What he has done in his short career (life) is nothing short of amazing. By the way Kudos to Mckillop who is also a great wrestler. I love it that he is not making it easy for CW. The competition is priceless. I guarantee that we will be talking about this rivalry for years to come. P.s. I do not know his dad from beans other than some small talk that i have had with him. He recognized some of his sons victories, but he seems very humble in regards to his sons accomplishments, and seems like a nice guy.
