Grandelis comes in second
Nate Grandelis of Chartiers-Houston dropped a 3-2 decision to Nazar Mironenko of Mifflinburg in the heavyweight finals of the PIAA Class AA Wrestling Championships in Hershey Saturday. Grandelis gave up a aingle-leg takedown with 25 seconds to go for the win.
Grandelis was hoping to become the first state champion since Corey Walker won the heavyweight title in 1994. He is the first finalist from C-H since Elliot Bates made the heavyweight finals in 2005.
