Trinity, Canon-Mac reunited

Realignment in wrestling has been finalized by the WPIAL and Trinity and Canon-McMillan will be in the same section for the next two seasons. Peters Township was moved from Section 4A to Section 2B and Ringgold jumped from Section 2B to 2A.

In Class AA, Burgettstown was sent to Section 1B and away fropm its natural rivals in Avella, Fort Cherry, South Fayette and Chartiers-Houston. Avella is the new member in that section.

North Catholic and Mapletown were added as new teams.

The following is the new alignment.

Section 1A - Franklin Regional, Gateway, Kiski, McKeesport, Penn Hills, Woodland Hills
Section 1B - Greensburg Salem, Hempfield, Indiana, Greater Latrobe, Penn-Trafford, Norwin
Section 2A - Albert Gallatin, Belle Vernon, Connellsville, Elizabeth Forward, Thomas Jefferson, Ringgold
Section 2B - Baldwin, Bethel Park, Mt. Lebanon, Peters Township, Upper St. Clair, West Mifflin

Section 3A - Butler, Knoch, Mars, North Allegheny, Pine-Richland, Seneca Valley
Section 3B - Central Catholic, Fox Chapel, Hampton, North Hills, Plum, Shaler

Section 4A - Canon-McMillan, Chartiers Valley, McGuffey, Moon, Trinity, Waynesburg
Section 4B - Ambridge, Blackhawk, Central Valley, Hopewell, Montour, West Allegheny

Class AA

Trinity is expected to hire a wrestling coach and basketball coach at Thursday's school board meeting.
