I see lots of sports updates but no update on Canon Mac winning the Reno tournament??????? None of the individual or team scores for this local team? Guess the 7 college basketball teams leaving the Big East is more important

The event was held in Nevado and finished after the newspaper was published Saturday night.

Also, I had computer issues of my own that made the posts a little late.

Schram and Campbell each were winning when they got pinned. Schram was pinned by a hip-toss.

This should be a way bigger story than it is. Reno is a gigantic tournament. I think there were something like 85-90 teams this year? I would put it right on the same level as Beast, Ironman, & Powerade. For CM to win the title and bring home 5 All-Americans is a huge deal. The success of this wrestling team is equivalent to a football team finishing top 10 in the country and having multiple 5-star prospects. A big well done all around to the CM wrestling community.

It makes me wonder how WPIAL wrestling would have looked even 5-10 years ago if FloWrestling would have been around. So many great teams and individuals that merited a lot of respect at the national level that went un-noticed.

The story was at the top of our Monday Sports section with a photo. Had the results and coach's comments. Not sure how much better it could be played.

I did try to talk my management into sending me to the sunny climate of Reno for, oh a week or so, but was turnded down. :)

Some people still dont get that wrestling will never be a headline sport. For some wrestlers its a free ride for a college education that many dont take full advantage of because of the dedication the sport takes. I guess one could move on to the glamour of an MMA career. Parents are devout wrestling fans until their kids graduate, then they disappear.
