WPIAL investigating CH incident
At its Monday meeting in Green Tree, the WPIAL Board of Control will review an incident that took place during last week’s Chartiers-Houston Wrestling Tournament.
Chartiers-Houston police said a physical altercation erupted between Rich Hall, the president of the Chartiers-Houston School Board, and Josh Mollica, an assistant wrestling coach for South Fayette during the tournament.
"We heard about it," said Tim O’Malley, executive director of the WPIAL. "The board will discuss it at the meeting."
Chartiers-Houston police said no charges were filed.
The board of control is investigating the matter because the incident happened during a WPIAL event. O’Malley said the WPIAL asked for, and received, reports from both schools about the altercation. The board of control could take a number of varying punitive steps if the incident is thought to be serious. O’Malley said he would release what action, if any, the board took Tuesday.
Chartiers-Houston police were already at the wrestling event to provide security when they were called over to one of the scoring tables in the middle of the gymnasium.
Police said an argument took place between Mollica and Hall, who was one of the workers in expediting the bouts of the tournament. Police said Mollica and Hall settled the matter and asked that no charges be filed.
John George, superintendent of Chartiers-Houston, said he was alerted about the incident but had no comment.

Josh was the victim in this incident he was punched in the face because hall thought Mollica was making fun of him. In no way did josh fight back or cause for this to happen. Just to clear that up and show josh was the victim not an aggressor since that's what the article points towards
"An argument" occurred and both men consider the matter resolved.
Once they solve this caper, I would like them to look into the 50/50 lady giving me an evil eye.
If Witness is correct, then I have egg on my face. I didn't get that at all from the article.
That's my understanding of the incident, too.
"Witness" is right, josh was the victim here. Hall started the argument. Josh had no idea what was going in and then got punched in the face by hall. People who told you joe that josh was just as much involved as hall in the incident is wrong, the police know and chartiers Houston knows what happened there looking to cover for hall based on the info from this article
Mr. Hall has been around wrestling for a long time and is a very friendly and level headed person. I find it extremely hard to believe that the fellow from SF was completely the victim here. Not saying he deserved punched but he must have said something other than "Go Team!" to elicit this reaction. Glad to see both parties didn't make a mountain out of a mole hill and hope the WPIAL does the same.
Anonymous: No one told me Josh was just as much involved, just that he was involved. You're reading too much into this.
Well your outlook on mr hall sure should change. Since josh did not say anything nor look in his direction hall came and grabbed josh in an underhook and pushed him to the wall then threw a punch. I know I was the one that got punched so and in no way did I do anything and for a guy in his position to do that in no way is that acceptable and for you anonymous to say that how the SF fellow must of done something is completely wrong
I saw nothing. Zero, Zilch, Zip, Nada. It sounded overblown when I read the article (I was the one dipping my face in the yolk above). I still don't know anything about what really happened, but I do hope you're alright. I hope you guys can work this out like men (talking it out is how men "settle it", in case I am misunderstood). And I really am sorry about joking over this before.
Josh was the victim he was standing by his head coach looking on a match wrestled by a chartiers Houston wrestler when hall believed josh was making fun of him because he was clapping his hands hall then took josh to the wall and then a punch was thrown by hall. I was standing there I would know. Don't assume hall is this friendly person if he would do that for no reason. In anyway you look at it there is never a reason to punch someone in the face
I guess if you read it here it is factual. Maybe the WPIAL shoud just review the posted comments on mat matters and pass final judgement. NO way someone could get away with a biased comment. Everything is fact or tossed out on this blog.

No, you're wrong. Comments are posted as long as they are not libelous or vicious attacks against others. And yes, that includes name-calling.
Maybe it stemmed from the SF parent yelling from the stands at the head table after a light weight semi final match?
I heard a penguin and a stuffed buffalo were also involved as well as a bucket of ice and possibly a nine iron. Again this report is unconfirmed at this time.
Now that would be a meeting I would love to cover.
Yeah? Why's that?
WPIAL investigating??? There is usually security personnel at matches and police are either present or easily accessible. If this parent thought it was no significant enough to file charges, then everyone posting on here needs to quit playin mamma deal with it.
