1. Brian Beattie won't place at states this year.
2. Who does these rankings? Don't they know Tarley has already won the PIAA gold? WTF?

Wierchioch is tough but winning states? I can't see him coming within 6 points of Tyler Hain. Hain just bumped up to 160 to wrestle (#6 ranked in the country) Hess from benton and lost 1-0. Hain is a 2x state runner up and a senior, he is a little to much for the freshman to handle.

Who was the kid that beat Tarly at Bedford is he from a double or triple A school. Personally I think the state rankings are on the money. Only time will tell.

The state ranking pretty much ignore the WPIAL other than SSA and Burrell.

Tarley lost to the kid from Richland AA. I think his name is Rizzo. Great match. AA heavyweight is loaded for the first time in a long time.

I think they ignore the wpial except SSA and Burrell because the wpial is not that good at this juncture. The programs are diminishing to the point that wrestling will soon be an afterthought if any thought at all. The competition is marginal at best compared to the programs in the 80's and 90's. The midget programs are failing because of lack of interest in coaching. Nobody wants to make the sacrifice that our parents did for us and that's a shame. Sorry for the rant but, my son has not practiced with his wrestling team for two weeks now and has only wrestled 6 matches this season. Mostly due to weather but, also because of the schools and coaches lack of interest to keep the sport at the level our fathers did. We had practice 5 days a week come hell and high water. I remember my father wrecking his car on a few occasions in the winter snow just to get me to practice. Now, your lucky to have practice twice a week. Sure, I have the money to take my son to quest but the level of competition can only get better if we the parents make the sacrifices to keep this sport alive. I do what I can to contribute but, it seems like it's eventually going to be a loosing battle. Again sorry for the rant. As for Tarly, When will he wrestle this kid from Richland again? I see he is from area 6. I could of sworn I thought Richland was in the wpial. Will they meet in the Regionals? Should be a good Final if so.

D6 is part of the Southwest Regional so Tarley will wrestle him again at Regionals. And, yes, Heavyweight is loaded in the state. As for the comment about practicing the last few weeks, how in the world could you unless you belong to a club? Most school districts are very strict about no practice if school is cancelled. If a coach would "sneak" a practice and someone would get hurt, all hell would break loose. You are busting on fathers who volunteer their time to coach your kids and have no control over the situation you speak of. Regardless of what your father did, 5 days a week is not necessary at the midget level. The problem is everyone thinks their kid can be the next Kolat and if that doesn't happen it has to be the coaches fault for not breaking and entering to practice. Take your kid to Quest 5 days a week and burn him out. I am sure the volunteer coaches probably won't miss you.

The great wrestlers, wrestle 5 days per week at the midget level and don't get burned out, that's the gamble you have to take. The best wrestlers wrestle 10 months per year starting in 3rd grade and those are the one's who win div 1 national titles. ( Kolat,Scott,Hunter,Koscheck,Moore,Waller, Angle,Herbert,Letters) ect... these guys went 5 days per week when they were 8 years old and they go 6 days per week now at 30. Competing/coaching.

Throw this freshman crap out of the window in this case. Fact of the matter is Hain and Hess just won't be able to dominate Wiercioch physically like a senior normally would dominate a freshman. So now its up to talent, conditioning, and who can handle the pressure. I give edge to Wiercioch.

So I Guess Wercioch could beat both Alton's, Peppleman, Hess, Courts and Cowburn.

Courts wrestles 171. Wiercioch wrestles 152. Two weight classes up. I don't think Wiercioch could beat Courts giving up 20 pounds. That apples to oranges comparison proves you are an idiot. Peppleman wrestles 160. Another apple to oranges comparision. Now the Alton brother at 152 is another story. That would be a stretch for Wiercioch because he would be wrestling an older clone of himself and the age, strength ,experience would be tough for Wiercioch to handle. But Alton would have his hands full for sure and you never know what could happen.

Hain bumped up and lost to Hess 1-0,and peppelman beat hess 4-2 (both 160 pounders) do you have a reading comprehension problem? Your telling me that werchioch can beat Hain, so that would mean he could also beat hess and peppleman. BTW Dylan Alton would tech or pin wierchoch by the 2nd period.

See this is where you make your mistake by saying this guy bumped up here and beat this guy and this guy lost to this guy who bumped up to wrestle this guy etc.
Every match is different so to compare this guy to that guy is silly because its means nothing. As far as reading comprehension not agreeing with you isn't a problem with comprehension. It's a difference of opinion. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see what happens at 152AA.
