10 Comments:
I'm sure it's just a typo but Mitchell Port is from Bellfonte not Portage.
WPIAL is going to have their hands full again.
So is the PA team. What a lineup! Can't wait to watch the Alton twins again.
I know that it is incredibly hard to select the top wrestlers to compete in the Dapper Dan, and there are always a couple disagreements. I have to say that I am pretty upset about 2 wrestlers who were left of this years team that more than deserve at least 1 of the spots. AJ Schopp and/or Colin Shobler should been selected. I understand that Josh Dziewa is the number one recruit in the country at 135. That has to be based on his freestyle accomplishments mainly (which are impressive). But the fact is Josh never even won a match at the state tournament prior to this year. AJ Schopp is a 3 time finalist and 4 time place winner, including 1st this year at 135. Also Colin Shober is a two time state champion at 140 and could have easily went down with the weight allowance to 135. It just seems like AA kind of gets unfairly overlooked. There are only 2 wrestlers in the line-up from AA schools. Again I am not saying that any of these great athletes are undeserving of their selection but just wanted to throw my opinion out there.
Very well put and I agree.

wierchiok should be in there. hes better than alton
Why do you want to start a negative post let alone assinine one. He is 14 and a freshman, this is a senior event. Spell the kids name correctly, can't swing a dead cat without hitting a paper with his name in it. (Not a bad thing CW) Keep up the hard work.
I agree with Schopp being better than Dezewia, much better body of work in folkstyle, I think that Schopp would beat Catalano worse than 1-0. FYI Wilps is a 2x wpial champ and Reagard is a 3x wpial champ. Nothing is listed after there names in the lineup.
catalano would beat schopp. he should have beaten dezewia but wrestled a little tentative. you see what he did to schafer for 3rd and 4th. nickie will be a state champ next year.
wierchovk is better than alton.
