Schram wins 103 title

HERSHEY –Connor Schram escaped five seconds into the fourth overtime to take a 2-1 victory over Austin Miller of Hempfield in District 3 in the 103-pound finals of the PIAA Class AAA Wrestling Championships at the Giant Center.
Regulation ended in a 1-1 tie and no one scored until Schram’s escape in overtime.
Winning as a freshman, Schram now has an opportunity to become a four-time PIAA champion. Only nine wrestlers have accomplished the feat in the history of the PIAA tournament.
Schram is the first C-M wrestler to win a state title since Colin Johnston captured the 112-pound weight class in 2006.

When he lost the powerade and WPIAL in the last minute of those matches I was afraid of the same thing in PIAA. Glad you pulled it off. You can be called Champ forever. Congrats Champ.

Was Schram pinned at all this year?
What was his final record?

dirty grillo you know the answer to that question was schram pinned this year. so he was pinned in a dual meet by a kid he was beating by at least ten points. connor got caught in a headlock while he was in route to a tech fall. he got a little careless and he learned a good lesson that day. high school kids can pin you if you aren't careful so you gotta pay attention the whole 6 minutes. he is a freshman and he learned a valuable lesson. How about the kid who pinned him. he can walk around and say he pinned a state champ once.

Hey clown show--If I knew I wouldn't ask! And that is exactly what happened. I overheard someone in a bar speaking of a kid pinning Schram and didn't believe it.
I realized this probably wasn't the best place to post that question. I follow mostly AA so it isn't far fetched to miss dual meet results for CM.

Dirty Grillo,

I like clown show name. Thank you i am going to keep it. Nobody in a bar was speaking about Cons getting pinned. You follow wrestling and wanted to be a richard and poo poo and Cons state title win. Hey he got pinned. kid pinned him fair and square. what matters to most and to his supporters is he got up and kept going and won a state title. So you keep saying in the "bar" you frequent how connor got pinned. We'll keep saying how wonderful it is to have a state champ again at CM.

No wonder everyone hates CM?

its better to be hated for who you are than loved for something you are not. CM kicks butt and people hate us for it. CM hates nobody. We respect the sport too much.

They don't hate you for the few good wrestlers you have. Its how you react and carry yourself afterwards. The good wrestlers you have where made by Jim Ackerly, at Quest.

BS. Jim didn't make anybody. all he did was enhance what was already there. Jim is a good guy and does wonders with talented kids but don't give me that bs about jim making cm kids. i will tell you who makes cm kids. coach mary and coach glenny haines and all the other coaches at cm. no slap at jim he is definitely a big help to our cm boys and we appreciate what he does and he is a good teacher and helps our program and others as well. but don't disrespect our coach mary and glenn and staff. our jr high feeder program ain't too bad either.

Oh, don't get your panties bunched up there.

Love Chris, great motivator and teacher... But Cons, got every thing he knows from Jim and all those special little private lessons Jim gave him through the many years, that alot don't know about. Hells bells, Jim coaches him during live wrestling at Quest.

And I will tell you, that does not sit well with other wrestlers or parents.
If you placed at states for CM, PIAA. it was because you went to Quest and you had the best partners to drill and live wrestle with. Jim gets your head right.

Jim coaches and trains kids that are very very exceptional talented kids. He won't work with average kids and bring them up a level or two. thats too tough for jim. he likes them to be phenoms and then he acts like he is a big shot when they win a title. ask jim to coach a high school team and win a wpial title. he couldn't do it because he would have to actually work at making average kids good and good kids great. jim is no coach. now abe from central cathloic there is a guy jim couldn't touch. layoff mary too because your kid has to wrestle for him next year.

Nobody said nothing bad about Coach Chris, Really...
As far as Ackerly he will work with any kid that shows desire and the willingness to learn.

My boy could not do a proper single leg when he got there. He drilled it by himself until he got it, stuck with it. He was as raw a wrestler as you could get.
Jim did not shove him away, he wrestled with him, beat him up, in a wrestling sense.

Jim showed him how to wrestle like a high school kid as a middle schooler.
And he has returned the favor,
in back to back to back, state titles and a couple national titles. And if you ask him, he will say I still don't know how to wrestle, that is the key.
The desire to want to get better and learn.

jim has a good school and he has trained and coached a lot of kids who won JO titles and HS titles and even college all americans but he would not have the patience or ability to win a wpial or state title with a team he would have to build and manage. he's good one on one with a phenom but thats it.
