Joe,
Where are the area 4 results for the pjw's. You have ncaa wrestling that nobody really cares about and have forgotten the youth movement. These kids need to be celebrated. Show them the love and respect they deserve.

This must be a father or mother who's little darling qualified for a so called state tournament. The o-r has'nt covered area four results for years.

Sorry 2:08 but the TRUE wrestling fan does care about Nationals. Many local and PA boys were wrestling for the ultimate in folk style wrestling! See you all in Philly next year!

Area 4 results are on PJW web site where they have there own site for the little dudes. 8 and under, can you imagine, I can't. I feel sorry allready for the refs who will have to put up with throwing head gears and tantrums on the mat.

I would rather watch a Sambien Guidi 1-0 ride out victory.

At one time, the Area 4 results were submitted to the paper. We ran the results for the area and state results, too. Then, different people ran the tournament and failed to submit the results.

I don't mean this to sound cold, but I am not chasing down youth wrestling results from people who obviously don't care if they get published.

We always ran photos and tried to do that on a continuing basis. But we had trouble because they gave us wrong times to show up for the pictures. Half the wrestlers had left one year and we had only half the photos to put in the paper.

So, we told the organizers they were responsible for submitting the photos. None was submitted last year or the year before.

It's hard to deal with that type of disorganization.

Joe, the 2:08 guy is out of touch or as another poster stated he wants to see his his little boy's name in print. AND, contrary to his belief many people including myself do follow the NCAA's very closely with special interest in local and PA entrants. Keep it coming Joe!!

The nice part about the internet is that there is no space limitations. There is room enough for everything.

I have no problem running the Area IV results. Maybe they just expected us to magically show up without knowing the time schedule. One phone call after 5 p.m. to the sports department (724-222-2200) or even a fax (724-225-2077) would have worked wonders.

Just remember guys your Guidis, Wiercioch's and Schrams all came from the area 4 naptime JO's. These kids are the future and we need the press to keep this sport alive so you can enjoy your local talent in the NCAA. When I was little that's all I looked forward to was being able to see my name in print. And yes, I'm a father that would like his son to see his name in print as well. He deserves it. I don't need to see his name in the paper. I know what his accomplishments are. Joe, I understand your frustration and wish you the best in the future on getting the results from area 4. Maybe someone from area 4 will read this blog and step it up next year.

Couple thoughts...
How many wrestlers have a Powerade and State title under their belts before a WPIAL Title? The list has to be short.
Also, I would have loved to see Demore in the PIAA 145 bracket. Too bad he got sick. Carr's toughest test before the finals was the section title match which he won in OT.
Also, Will Guidi get big and wrestle 189 next year?
How much does El Toro Blanco Tarley weigh? What are the chances of him wrestling 215?

el toro weighs about 250...he was thinkin about 215 this year and decided to lift, stay strong and stay at heavyweight. there is no 215 at college so it would be almost a waste to get to two fifteen.

Guidi is about 5'6, way to short for 171 let alone for 189. Last year he should have been at 160, his performance at states in 09 proved that. He is at his state title weight for next year= 160.

Hey Dad, he shouldn't have to see his name in print. If he is a true wrestler, kicking the tar out of his opponents should be enough. Besides, I have seen the 30" trophies these midget tourneys pass out for 3rd place finishers, to go along with participation trophies. So I am sure he probably doesn't care about this blog. My guess is you were never any good at anything and you are trying to live through your son's success. Support your son by supporting his training, not whining about recognition.

guidi better be concerned what weight Cody is wrestling. I agree that guidi at 189 seems a bit of a stretch. guidi better hope Cody grows. but if you look at it Cody should go 160 or 171 next year. sam will wrestle whatever weight Cody doesn't. he can't touch cody. now here is another name that might come up. dakota from burrell. probably will grow out of both sams and codys weight class but if he stays at 171 next and cody goes at 160 where does that leave sam? this ain't jo's dakota will beat sam now.

Friday, March 26, 2010 10:17:00 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree cody will beat sam at 160 but Dakota is nasty, 2 years ago as a 7th grader he almost beat sam at pjw's. Dakota will be a 2xer, I think he will be at 189 next year. But Brown from Lewisburg is back at 171 and he will finally get his state title. Brown just took 3rd at Junior nationals.

How many wrestlers from the viewing area made the trip to NHSCA or FLO nationals? The answer is Zero, Why doesn't this generation travel for competition like they used to? Maybe that's why this area is not as good as it once was...

if dakota goes 189 then sam will go 171 only if cody goes 160. if cody goes 171 sam will go 160. sam will not go to 189 anyway its too much of a jump. anyway he better hope dakota goes to 189 then he'll be able to either go 160 or 171 whatever cody decides to wrestle.

Well a little fact for you 10:40 AM. CW and Hess got to go at a practice before PIAA. It was mirror image styles, with neither showing one another up, only helping each other. Class act...

first of all guidi can't go with cody. not this year when cody was 152 and guidi was 160 and certainly not next year when cody goes to 160 or 171. guidi will not beat cody next year. guidi better hope cody grows to 171 and guidi can stay at 160 cause he'll never beat cody next year. guidi can't beat dakota from burrell either this year or next year for sure. heres how it will be next year. dakota 189. guidi at 171 if cody goes 160. guidi at 160 if cody goes 171.
as far as hess he can't beat cody either. when are you people going to realize there are no kids in pa AA or AAA that will come close to beating cody next year. he can beat alton and peppelman today! if they wrestled today 3-31-10 cody would win.

You don't think Sambien would beat Mckillop? He can beat Peppleman today? I don't understand Charleroi people. Try to find some class in the next couple years.

here is why weirchock would beat peppelman. he's better. period. as far as mckillop he'll run next year from cody and so will guidi. cody trains like an olympian from russia or bulgaria. he is under guidance from experts on nutrition and diet plus conditioning coaches and he is being trained by olympic coaches who have him slated to compete in olympics when he is ready after college. as good as peppelman and alton and locals like mckillop and guidi are cody is on a different level. he is truly an amazing rare talent.

I was alerted by a friend, that my boy is once again thrown into a meat grinder of blogg hoopla...

Let it go!
I'll make him play basketball next year and there be no more half cocked remarks....Oh, do you I hear crickets after that statement. LOL

He loves the sport..truly, I never asked why he does. I may do just that today.

Right after he dries off from swimming the Atlantic and training at the Olympic Center...also it wasn't Metcalf he beat it was Herbert. Oh my.
Please give my son some breathing room.. It was Saturday, on the way home from his friends house, he looked at me and said, I think it finally sunk in dad.. that I am a state champion. A whole three weeks later.
My son is not cocky, or rude and definently does not walk around saying I can beat this one or that one. So stop the Guidi crap, thats another young man that has had a great deal of pressure on him in the last 3 years.

its what wrestling fans do. its what sports fans do. go read blogs on other team sports and individual sports and check it out. there are blogs on swimming were i have seen parents say stuff like hope the kid hits his head on the board next dive. or blogs on softball with all kinds of cruel stuff said. if you don't want all the individual attention don't participate in an individual sport. go play baseball like you mention. it looks like your kid is good and is respected by peers and anybody with half a wrestling brain knows there will be idiots out there saying this guy can beat that guy etc. and its no reflection on you or the kid.
