Thought there was some really good wrestling by several area wrestlers at this past weekends tri-cada. Was really suprised with the showing of Tarley at heavywieght and with the poor showing of Beth Center's team as a whole. They had some really strong wrestlers coming back from last years team and the rumor was that there numbers were going to be up from last year.

Not sure why Bentworth wrestlers don't get much rec, they have at least 4 very good wrestlers. Dylan Demain is a tuff wrestler and Vince Vahaly also is ranking up there with the Mizia boys. Show them some support.

Dude,
Where do you get that Bentworth is not getting any recognition? All the wrestlers you mentioned are ranked and the team is also ranked as well. I don't think the rankings are wrong in any way shape or form. Burell is #1, Chartiers Houston is #2, and Bentworth very well may be #3 after it is all said and done. They have had a very good season which was to be expected by the people in the know. Bentworth is an up and coming power in wrestling and if they could co-op with Beth-Center they would be the team to beat. Is that enough respect for you? What Bentworth, Beth-Center,Charleroi,Belle-Vernon,Ringold,Brownsville and other surrounding schools in the area should do is start their own wrestling club that actually teaches these kids how to wrestle insted of hoping your kid is good enough to wrestle for quest. You want respect this is how to get it.

Please not The friggin quest card again. I Think these wrestling clubs are hurting more than helping, the problem is this sport is eating itself alive with the self indulgence of people with the means rather than helping every kid we just assume ride the coattales of the gifted. school programs are becoming depleted because of the almighty QUEST. OR IS it Quick as in Quick buck. It`s a shame that economics continues to play an increasingly disturbing role in the development of this great sport.

I am in total agreement with you about quest. That is why I suggested starting a program for the area kids near Bentlyville, Charleroi, Belle Vernon areas that would actually teach the kids and give them the competition they need to be successful against the other area kids that go to quest. Unfortunately, this sport is eating itself alive. And, in order to survive you need to have these clubs or something similar to it to give the area boys the competition they need to win. Just look at Bentworth. I know that 3 out of the 4 kids that are ranked go or have gone to quest since they were little. What about the Charleroi wrestlers that are doing well. I know at least 2-3 of there wrestlers go to quest. How about CH and CM wrestlers? I'm sure they all go to quest. The point is that in order to get good you have to wrestle the better competition. When I was growing up I had to wrestle the coaches sons every single day. They beat the living tar out of me and I thank them for doing so because, they made me a better wrestler. I'm sure there could be a way to get the local wrestlers in one room for a fraction of the cost that quest charges. You just need a coach that still loves the sport more thn he loves the money. Now, I'm talking about youth wrestling mind you. Once the kids get into high school clubs should be outlawed because it takes the team spirit out of competition. Clubs should only be a supplement for the school programs not a substitute.
