Joe, Fox Chapel hasn't clinched yet, despite the fact that the WPIAL brackets have listed them. If Mars beats Hampton Friday night, the Planets can bump the Foxes, or the Talbots, out.
Are the matches with the third place teams at the same location as the first and second place teams? Some of these listings say "vs" and some say "at".
The AA top two are Burrell and Char Houston, The third spot is up for grabs. As for AAA all three spots are going to be tough to win. The AAA field is wide open, with Zymroz out for PCC they aren't a lock anymore and CM has enough holes that Latrobe, Kiski, Butler, Connellsville and Hempfeild will make it a grind to get though. This will be very interesting to see who make the top 4. Keep up the great work Joe.
The Triple-A Section 3 fifth-place match is the only one NOT at the site of the A SubSection first place team.
AND, on that topic, Fox Chapel hasn't even clinched a spot yet. Hampton has to wrestle Mars tonight. Mars is still alive for a berth...though most expect Hampton to win, stranger things have happened. IF Hampton wins, Fox Chapel is third in the subsection and will host the fifth-place match as is listed on the brackets at the WPIAL site and in the text on Joe's blog.
C H and Burrell will be a good match. C H will give them a run for their money. C M should take first. Kiski, waynesburg, or PCC are close behind.
Burrell will beat CH by 25.
Due to the weather, that Hampton / Mars match is now scheduled for Monday.
Isn't it just like the WPIAL to release its section team pairings on its website when they were not ready. That is so surprising.
The WPIAL treats wrestling like an unwanted sport, something that is just an inconvenience.
BTW, the matches that say vs. are at the site listed. The matches with the word at indicates the site.
