ROUND 1 - Biggest surprise of first round was John Demaske of Jeff-Morgan getting pinned by Mason Replogle of Northern Bedford in 3:51 at 113. . . Aaron Toth of Charleroi had a close call in a 1-0 win over Tanner hetrick of Meyersdale. . . Nice win for Matt Johnston of West Greene, who pinned Owen Peters of Huntingdon in 5:10. . . Tough loss for C-H's Joe Congie, 1-0 to Dylan Ludwig of Moshannon Valley at 182.

QUARTERS - Austin McDermitt of Burgettstown upset Derrick Claar of Chestnut Ridge at 106. Claar was a D5 champion with 33-7 record. McDermitt was 4th in WPIAL.  . . Seth Carr upset Ryan Dupas of Cambria Heights 7-5 at 113. Dupas was D5-2nd and Carr was fourth in WPIAL. . .Vince Vahaly of Bentworth dropped 2-1 decision to Pfaunmiller of Chestnut Ridge at 126. . . Freedom's Boe Bonzo knocked Matt Johnston of West Greene to wrestlebacks with 10-3 win at 145 . . . Tanner Sutton of Char-Houston a 3-2 winner over Dylan Weston of Tyrone at 145. . . Garrett Vulcano of Char-Houston lost controversial bout against unbeaten John Blankenship of United 3-2 in UTB. Vulcano was called for illegal hold and penalized point after it appeared he had won the bout against Blankenship. Vulcano can finish as high as third at 170.

CONSOLS - Wash High's George Rogers was eliminated in the consols after getting pinned by Seth Deist of Meyersdale. . . Howard, McGinnis at 106 and Swarrow and Demaske at 113 still alive for medals. . . Miller (JM) eliminated Wood (Bent) at 120. . . Toth (Charl) and Vahaly (Bent) alive at 126 . . . Fetchet (SF) and Abbott (Burg) still going at 160. . . Jacobs (WG) still alive at 220.
