Schram takes second
Connor Schram of Canon-McMillan dropped a 3-1 decision in overtime to Godwyn Nyama of Brashear in the 120-pound finals of the PIAA Class AAA Wrestling Championships at the Giant Center Saturday night.
Nyama was a crowd favorite and won the first state title not only for Brashear but also for any City League high school. Nyama had a takedown removed near the end of the third period, sending the bout into overtime tied at 1-1. But he got a takedown with 20 seconds remaining.
Schram won a state title as a freshman but has now finished second in this tournament the past two seasons.
