If it weren't for bad luck ...
John Prezzia might be one of the more talented wrestlers to compete in the PIAA, but he ended his career with little to show for it. Prezzia, a senior at South Side Beaver High School, won a state title in his freshman season and was being compared to some of the greats in the state. He had a chance to win four titles but injuries destroyed his career. He fractured an ankle last week and will miss the postseason. A knee problem stopped him in his sophomore season and a shoulder injury shelved his junior season.
Anyone who watched him wrestle as a freshman had to be impressed. Some thought he had a chance to be the best wrestler in Beaver County history. But Prezzia will have to live off the fond memories from that freshman year and wonder what might have been had he been able to stay healthy.
Too bad.
