CM to honor 1992 team
Canon-McMillan will honor its 1992 wrestling team that won the Class AAA state team title. Ceremonies will take place Friday night, when the Big Macs take on North Allegheny in a non-section home match. The 92 team was coached by Jim Neuman and had five state medalists: Mark Angle (4th at 103), Bobby Owens (5th at 119), Tim Rohaley (4th at 130), Keilann O'Daniel (2nd at 145) and Bryan Matusic (2nd at 160).

That was a great team. Neuman was a great motivator and coach. I think Coach Brian K was on that team too if I remember correctly. CM needs to put another match that features the old local great wrestlers like they did a few years ago. Even though some are old, grey and out of shape, it was great to see them one more time. Brought back great memories and it was a fun night. I remember Owens wrestled that night.
CM didn't put that event on, just had a lot of ex CM wrestlers in it.
canon mac was loaded with other great wrestlers on the 1992 team that will be present and others out of town such as Eric Kampert, Nate Perani, Mike Smith,Vern Holley,Kevin Brooks,Lee Simpson, Darnell Thomas, and others hope to see all that worked extremely hard.
don't forget jarod laskowski,i think dion camp, mike zaricki, jeff blunkowski cm had a bunch of young men that contributed to that great run pretty sure they won wpial that year to or they lost to connellsville
all good wrestlers that are being mentioned, but a lot of them weren't on that team, some a year or two after the 92 team.
They did lose that year to a very Solid Connellsville lineup by 1 point, came down to the HWT match
CM was great, but not the best.
JT is stalling. We have 3, or 3 1/2 leagues. Basically. WPIAL AAA, WPIAL AA, City, and Prep. They've all wrestled, you should have their measure. Where are the rankings?
Speaking of connellsville, I'm going tonight with some friends to the Waynesburg match. It's going to be a good one.
I'll be there too
canon mac leading by 5 going into heavy weight but lost by fall lee simpson was no match for jeff craig and i mean it lee was a big boy but craig was a @#$% beast

What a great evening for nostalgia . It was great to see all the guys come back and enjoy the night. With those old timers back, HA!. HA! and the kids doing their thing , well all I can say is it was one great night!! I want to thank the 91-92 team for all the great memories and the current team for all the great memories I know they'll provide. Most of all thanks to Chris, Glen and staff for putting this tribute on . I'm looking forward to another great season from the Big Macs !. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Hey maybe will do it again in another 20 years. Then you`ll really see some oldtimers. Thanks C-M Fan for always supporting us and the current Champs
Was really nice to see some of the guys from the 90's team, brought back some really good memories! Those were some really good teams in those days winning some WPIAL championships and of course the 92 PIAA championship. I was honored and priveledged to be a part of such an awesome group having started wrestling in 91 in the 8th grade my life was shaped by Coach Kenny Smith early on and the many teammates of mine, many of which were present last night at the honoring and in the stands as fans who graduated 95, 96 97 and beyond. When I started coaching 15 years ago it was due in large part to the influence of these people and I was always motivated to help create a similar atmosphere for my oldest son Malachi and to see this become a reality and beyond makes me happy beyond explanation. I am sure that these young student/ athletes of these current teams will have nights like these in the near and far future as their accomplishments look to surpass those of the 90's. And looking ahead at our junior high and youth programs I really see no sign of slowing down in the forseeable future. What is amazing to me here at Canonsburg/ Canon McMIllan is how the first names change but many of the last names stay the same. Price (not related 80's and current), Macri (current and future) Schram (past and present) Hritsko (past and present) Krenzelak (past and present and future) Hutchin (past and present) Minor (past present and future) Chishko (current and future) Dobbin (past and present) Pihiou (past present and future) Dami (past and present) Thomas (Tracy ) and many more...On this Blessed Nativity Feast I am happy to say may God continue to Bless the tradition of the Canonsburg/ Canon McMIllan wrestling program started some 80+ years ago by one Robert "ROC" O'Connell, May his memory be eternal!
It is a smart wrestler that realizes early on that it is a Team Sport.
It is smart college coach that selects a wrestler that is in it for the team as much as he is for himself.
