Format change

The PIAA is changing the format for its finals. Instead of wrestling each individual final separately, they are combining it with the other medal round matches. Here is the link to my column on the change:

The only and one and only advantage I can see in this format is that if the championship match is so boring ( which alot of them are ) then a fan would have something else to watch. Yesterday at the Big 10 championships they ran 3 mats at the same time as the finals. This must be the new way of thinking.

They should run AA AAA finals together if anything. These finals are not for the fans, they are for the wrestlers. Many states have run all medal rounds together but then again they are not PA. PIAA is grasping at straws with this format. Obviously PIAA wrestling steering committee is not made up of "wrestling" people.

Is this comment moderation purely subjective or based on breaking established rules. I added a comment yesterday which should have been approved. It is convenient to selectively only post comment certain comments to your liking.

I don't care for the new format but I don't like being in the Giant Center till 10:30 or 11 either. Start at 8 AM and go with 8 mats till you get to finals
