Wiercioch wins

Cody Wiercioch of Canon-McMillan captured the second state title of his high school wrestling career with a 7-4 decision over Shane Springer of Norristown in the 170-pound finals of the PIAA Class AAA Wrestling Championships in Hershey. Those of you who got to see the Wiercioch-Taylor match. Did you catch the 360 double leg take down?

Truly, a gifted athlete.

Its a reassuring thing for a wrestler to look to his corner with confidence, for valid direction.

No, the competition was more difficult this year. He know has better coaching, practice partners, coaches that can wrestle CW and push him to the next level.

Stop the hate, it can lead to heart disease.

McKillop was better then Shane Springer. How about those silly grumblings in the stands about CW moving down to wrestle CM. Bad idea. Where are all of the "Schram by at least a major" posters now?

I'm tired of all the elitist AAA is better than AA talk. I watched the finals of both the AA and AAA and many of these same kids wrestle each other throughout the year.

As for Weircioch having better coaching, practice partners and coaches that can practice with him, that's BS! What coach couldn't win a state title with the team at CM. Coach Mary does a great job but are you telling me that Mary is that much better of a coach than Coach Nelson???
Give credit where credit is due. AA and AAA are very comparable. 18 year old young men don't become predominant because of where the live, it's whats inside that counts.

I cant believe your trying to compare Nelson to Coach Mary. Nelson was run out of Beth Center and was lucky to find a job in Charleroi. Which by the way had a terrible dual meet season for the year. Coach Mary with his credentials could coach anywhere in the state that he wants.

It is hard to coach a team to success with only 6 kids wrestling AAA duals.
