Havelka hired at Chartiers-Houston

Jeff Havelka, son of Burgettstown wrestling coach Terry Havelka, has been hired as varsity coach at Chartiers-Houston High School. Havelka, 26, was an assistant coach for the Bucs last season and spent two seasons coaching at Waynesburg University with Ron Headlee and John Yates.
Havelka replaces Bill Sutton, who resigned this summer after 10 seasons as the Bucs head coach.
Havelka is a graduate of the University of Findlay and Burgettstown High School. He teaches phys ed at C-H.


Cardillo hired at Canon-Mac

Jason Cardillo has been hired to replace Chris Mary as wrestling coach at Canon-McMillan. Cardillo, 30, takes over a program that has won five state team titles over the past three years. Cardillo was one of the Big Macs assistant coaches.
He attended South Fayette High School and wrestled in a co-op at Chartiers Valley. Cardillo wrestled on the final team at Slippery Rock before the university discontinued the sport.
