Family matters
Family matters claimed another head wrestling coach in the area. Luke Smith, who has resurrected Ringgold's wrestling program, has resigned because of the upcoming birth of his and his wife's first baby. Smith, who wrestled at Ringgold, led the Rams to an 18-10 record last season. Two years ago, Ringgold snapped a seven-year drought by qualifying for the WPIAL Team Tournament.
Trinity's Jeff Bricker recently resigned to spend more time with his family after the birth of his and his wife's first child. Mike Marino was hired to replace him.
And Burrell's Chris Como has resigned citing family as part of the reason why. Como told Paul Cogut of the Tribune Review: "It's the culmination of a couple things -- my responsibilities to my family, and I took a new job within my organization" said Como, who is a software engineer for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
